Megan Martik (Martik Lab website)

The Spring 2024 Biology Colloquium Series launches this Friday with a seminar by Megan Martik, Assistant Professor of Genetics, Genomics, Evolution and Development in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. Dr. Martik studies the differentiation of multipotent neural crest cells into more specialized tissues, including peripheral nerves and cardiomyocytes. Her talk, sponsored by URISE and Bridges-to-the-PhD, will be titled, “Making and mending the heart with neural crest cells”.

Colloquium series seminars are held Fridays at 2pm in Chaparral Hall room 5122. Dr. Martik will be available after the seminar to meet with students during a “Meet the Speaker” reception, with light refreshments, in Chaparral Hall 5201.
