Colloquium: de Bellard on the evolutionary genetics of neural crest cells

Dr. de Bellard (de Bellard Lab website)

This week’s seminar in the Biology Colloquium series launches will be presented by CSUN Associate Professor of Biology María Elena de Bellard, who studies the evolution of neural development via neural crest cells, which lay the foundation of the nervous system in developing embryos. Dr. de Bellard’s seminar will be titled “The evo-devo of the neural crest: Cells, dead and alive!”

Because CSUN has suspended large in-person meetings to help slow the transmission of the novel coronavirus, this week’s Colloquium will be presented by videoconference on the Zoom service. You can watch the presentation on Friday at 2pm via this meeting link, with passcode biology. (Following the link may prompt the installation of the Zoom app in order to display video.)
