CSUN Graduate Student awards seek applicants representing research promise and academic excellence

CSUN Graduate Studies offers a trio of major awards each year recognizing achievement in graduate thesis research and academic work, and potential in a future research career. These three awards are now accepting applications, all due Friday, March 24. (Though, please note, not all at the same time on that date.)

Association of Retired Faculty Graduate Project/Thesis Memorial Award
The purpose of the award is to recognize excellent scholarship and provide financial support for graduate student creative activities that are a required part of a master’s program. This award is available to students who are returning to CSUN for the 2023-2024 academic year or who are graduating in Spring 2023. Several awards of $2500 each will be given. Nathan O. Freedman Memorial Award for Outstanding Graduate Student
This annual award is presented to an outstanding graduate student who has completed or will be completing degree requirements by May 25, 2023. The award recipient will receive $3,000 and will be announced at Honors Convocation. Robert H. Schiffman Memorial Award for Outstanding Research Promise
The purpose of the award is to recognize a graduate student who shows promise in scholarship, research or creative activity for their culminating experience (e.g., thesis or graduate project). This award is available to students who are returning to CSUN for the 2023-2024 academic year.
