College and Departmental awards offer recognition and support for undergraduate and graduate students

The Biology Department and the College of Science and Mathematics have opened applications for awards and scholarships recognizing achievement by undergraduate and graduate students with a wide range of majors, research interests, and levels of degree progress in the 2020-2021 school year.

All applications will be handled through the CSUN AcademicWorks site, which manages opportunities beyond the Department and College as well. The full list of Biology Department and CSM awards and scholarships is available as a PDF download, with links to the listing for each in AcademicWorks.

All Biology Department awards have an application deadline of March 1, 2021; CSM award applications are due March 29, except for the Robert R Sprague Foundation Fellowship, which closes February 12, and the Mack I. Johnson Research Award, which closes April 16. Application requirements vary, but most awards include at least one faculty letter of recommendation, and it is strongly suggested that students contact faculty for letters well in advance of the deadlines.
