Special seminar: Côté on the molecular control of the cytoskeleton

The CSUN Biology Department Development and Cancer Focus Group (DECAFOG) invites Biology Department students, faculty, and staff to a special virtual research seminar by Dr. Jean-François Côté, on Wednesday, October 7, from 4 to 5pm.

Dr. Côté (IRCM website)

Dr. Côté is a Full Research Professor, VP for Research and Academic Affairs, and a Research Unit Director at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM). He is also an Adjunct Professor of on the Faculty of Medicine and Healt Sciences at McGill Univeristy and the University of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. He studies the signaling pathways that control cytoskeletal dynamics during development and diseases. His presentation, titled, “RHO-family GTPases and AXL RTK signaling in development and diseases” will present an overview of his lab’s recent and current research on mapping the proximity interactomes of RAS-family proteins using the BioID approach, discuss how the AXL protein contributes to cancer cell migration and metastasis, and present new unpublished work on the role of cytoskeletal dynamics in development.

The seminar will be held over Zoom, at the meeting link https://csun.zoom.us/j/92209811587?pwd=Rmtvb0ZHUE5Pa0s3bHVHQmhMR1pqdz09
