Bermudes Lab receives NIH funding to work towards cancer-fighting bacteria

The Bermudes Lab in the Department of Biology has received a grant from the NIH for the project entitled: “Tumor-targeting Salmonella expressing tumor-selective cytotoxic proteins in combination with protease inhibitors. The four-year award provides $435,000 to build on the lab’s research on engineering bacteria to fight cancer.
