The Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation’s Environmental Fellowships support graduate students in California in training to become leaders for environmental advocacy. The Fellowships provide a one-year, $15,000 cash prize, a multi-day leadership training and cohort-building retreat with other Fellows, membership in the Switzer Fellowship Network of environmental leaders, and access to other Switzer Foundation grants and career development resources. According to the call for applications:
… The Switzer Fellowship is not intended to be a research fellowship. Leadership potential is a more significant factor in our evaluation than the specifics of a particular graduate research project. We fund individuals doing a wide variety of innovative, applied environmental work and we fund Fellows with varied backgrounds in many different disciplines (e.g., science, law, policy, engineering). We invite you to check out the News and Issues pages of our website for an idea of the breadth of issues and caliber of work our Fellows are doing.
Applications from Master’s students are particularly solicited. The deadline for submission is January 7, 2019, at 8:59pm Pacific time — see details on the online call for applications.
