The Spring 2025 Biology Colloquium Series continues this Friday with a seminar by Karolina Heyduk, Assistant Professor of Biology and the Director of the George Safford Torrey Herbarium at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Heyduk is a plant physiologist, studying the evolution and regulation of CAM, a specialized form of photosynthesis that helps plants conserve water in hot, stressful environments — and she is a collaborator on the Joshua Tree Genome Project. Her talk will be titled “Ecophysiology of Joshua trees, from common garden to carbon metabolism”.
Colloquium series seminars are held Fridays at 2pm in Chaparral Hall room 5125.
