The Fall 2024 Biology Colloquium Series continues Friday with a seminar by Deepshika Ramanan, an Assistant Professor at the NOMIS Center for Immunobiology and Microbial Pathogenesis at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Dr. Ramanan studies how mothers shape the development of their children’s immune systems and gut microbiomes. Her talk, sponsored by the Microbiology Student Association, will be titled, “Role of the entero-mammary axis in maternal and offspring immunity”.

Colloquium series seminars are held Fridays at 2pm in Chaparral Hall room 5122. Dr. Ramanan will be available after the seminar to meet with students during a “Meet the Speaker” reception, with light refreshments, in Chaparral Hall 5201.
