Colloquium: Zavala on studying plant development and making sure no one is left behind

The Biology Colloquium seminar series launches for the fall semester with CSUN’s own professor of Biology María Elena Zavala. Dr. Zavala studies the genetics of plant development, and has worked extensively to build programs to make science education and research experience accessible to CSUN students from underrepresented backgrounds. Her talk will be titled “Planting seeds of diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Because CSUN has suspended large in-person meetings to help slow the transmission of the novel coronavirus, this week’s Colloquium will be presented by videoconference on the Zoom service. You can watch the presentation on Friday at 2pm via this meeting link, with passcode biology. (Following the link may prompt the installation of the Zoom app in order to display video.)
