CSUN Women in Science launch fundraiser for after-school science outreach

The CSUN Women in Science club have launched an online fundraiser to support GIST, their after-school science outreach program for girls at a local middle school.

GIST, Girls in Science and Technology, offers twice-monthly hands-on activities in a variety of science fields for 8th graders at Portola Middle School, with the goal of exposing participants to the many potential careers within science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields, and motivate them to pursue further education in these areas.

The Women in Science club, which consists of CSUN STEM majors and graduate students, are seeking to raise at least $1000 to support these after-school activities in the next year. Donations can be made through the GIST campaign page at GoFundMe.
